The physicians, optometrists, and staff of Charles A.
Garcia, M.D., P.A. , the East Houston Eye and
Museum
District Eye Center regularly participate in local and
national non-profit organizations and events.  

Our practice has established strong connections with
outreach programs such as the
"Feria de Salud" with the
American Diabetes Association additionally our physicians
have made numerous public service announcements in
radio and TV.  Participation in private and nationally
funded clinical research have also been a high priority for
all staff and physicians of the practice since the practice
was established in 1970.  
The practice is headed by Charles A. Garcia, M.D.,
an ophthalmologist with an international reputation
as a physician and surgeon, Dr. Garcia is a
professor teaching medical students, residents in
specialty training as well as post residency surgical
instruction and clinical practice.  Dr. Garcia has
authored more than 150 peer reviewed articles,
numerous book chapters and three text books
about retinal diseases.   

He has participated in medical research for more
than 30 years including landmark studies on
diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and
retinitis pigmentosa.  He is a leader in the medical
and surgical management of retinal problems.

For more than 30 years Dr. Charles A. Garcia has
been a pioneer in new research and has helped to
establish standards by which ophthalmologists
world wide use treat and diagnose patients.  The
Retinal Vascular Center established in 1985 has
had a training program for pre and post doctoral
physicians both on a national and international
stage.
