John A. McCrary, III, M.D.


John A. McCrary, III, M.D. began his education
in the public school systems of Austin, Texas. He
attended the University of Texas where he
received his undergraduate school at the
University of Texas where he received his
undergraduate degree and continued his
education by attending the University of Texas
Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. After
graduation from an internship at U.S. Public
Health Hospital in San Francisco, California, he
returned to Texas to complete his residency in
Ophthalmology at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
There he served as Chief Resident in his final year.
Finally, he concluded with a fellowship at Bascom
Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami
School of Medicine.
Dr. McCrary served on the Baylor College of
Medicine Institutional Review Board from 1988
until 1992 and on many committees at the Cullen
Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology at
Baylor College of Medicine.
He is certified by the American Board of
Ophthalmology, is a member of the American
Academy of Ophthalmology and the American
Medical Association. Dr. McCrary is also a
member of the Houston Neurological Society and
a charter member of the International Society of
Neuro-Ophthalmology.
